The current Taliban government has not directly interfered with the Afghanistan Cricket Board’s day-to-day activities, allowing the board to continue its operations and management of cricket affairs independently. The primary focus of the board has remained on the development of the sport, organizing international fixtures, and supporting the growth of cricket at all levels in Afghanistan. However, there are challenges, particularly in navigating the broader socio-political environment, which can sometimes impact sponsorship opportunities, international relations, and the overall functioning of the sport.
There are lots of doubts regarding the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy? What is the future of Champions Trophy and do you feel that hybrid model can be a possible option? Getting an opportunity in Champions Trophy can be considered a huge achievement for Afghanistan?
